What this is
Scan & File reads documents you give it and returns the text, the tables and the fields you asked for. You need an account. Access is invite-only while capacity is limited, so signing in does not by itself grant it.
What you pay
You buy credits and spend them per page, at the rate shown on the pricing page. A plan includes a monthly allowance that resets on the first of the month; unused allowance does not carry over. Prepaid credits do.
Only pages we successfully read are charged. A page that fails costs nothing. Pages already read when you cancel a batch do count, because the work was done.
A batch that would cost more than you have left is refused before it starts, rather than stopping half way through and leaving you to work out which half you paid for.
Cancel whenever you like; it takes effect immediately and there is no notice period. We do not refund an allowance you did not use.
Your documents are yours
You keep every right in what you upload. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not use it to train models, and we do not show it to anyone. The only rights you give us are the ones needed to run the service: to store your files, read them, and give you the result back.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not put other people's documents through this without the standing to do so.
What we do not promise
Check the numbers. This is machine reading and it makes mistakes. Every value comes with the part of the page it was read from precisely so you can check it, and the review screen exists for that reason. Do not file a tax return, pay an invoice or sign anything on the strength of an extracted number you have not looked at. We are not liable for a decision made on an unverified value.
We do not promise a particular uptime. This runs on hardware we own, one page at a time, and a queue can be busy.
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the problem.
What we may do
We may suspend an account that is not paying, or one being used to break the law or to attack the service. We will tell you why.
We may change these terms. If a change matters to you, we will say so on this page and date it before it takes effect.
Retention
How long we keep your documents is in the privacy policy, and it is part of these terms: kept while your plan is active, kept for at least 90 days after you cancel, and deletable by you at any time.
